ABOUT ME
BIO
Thomas Gellert studied Media Informatics at the University of Applied Sciences Gießen-Friedberg, where he specialized in digital cinema cameras and wrote his thesis on the first digital cinema camera, the RED ONE.
Since 2013, he has been working as a freelance DP. With over 100 productions in 14 countries across two continents, he has won several international film awards and reached over 200 million viewers on YouTube.
He has also been collaborating successfully with Artlist.io since 2018 and is now among the top 3 filmmakers on the platform worldwide.
Since early 2025, he has been deeply exploring the use of AI to create visual effects and seamlessly blend them with real footage. These videos quickly went viral, reaching several million people on Instagram within just a few weeks. Drawing on over a decade of experience as a Director of Photography, Thomas is able to apply his cinematographic knowledge in ways that truly set his work apart.
